Yesterday, we officially flagged off the reconstruction of the 11.27-kilometer Mbala-Umuaku-Ngodo Road at Ngodo-Umuada Junction. Umunneochi LGA holds a special place in Abia State and the southeast region, contributing significantly to our socioeconomic evolution.
I want to express my gratitude to the good people of Umunneochi for their steadfast commitment to our cause and for consistently supporting the vision of a New Abia where no part of the State is ceded to criminal entities.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts over the past 20 months to restore law and order to Umunneochi. Your cooperation and support to the security agents since mid-2023 have been invaluable. Without your commitment to reclaiming your communities, our efforts would have been in vain.
Our success in restoring security demonstrates the power of unity among stakeholders. We must continue to work together to solve the social and economic problems facing our communities, regardless of political leanings.
Given the significance of Umunneochi to our agricultural development agenda, and the vast cashew belt and other export-friendly agro commodities that are massively cultivated around this area, I am pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the three locations for a multi-billion naira agro-industrial processing facility. The facility will transform the agricultural ecosystem by integrating the production, aggregation, and processing of agro-commodities for local consumption and export.
We will develop robust systems in collaboration with LGA leadership to utilize dormant economic resources, including the livestock and allied market in Lokpa and solid mineral deposits. Our focus will shift to wealth creation for businesses and families, partnering with investor groups to establish a hub of legitimate economic activities, and creating jobs and opportunities for our young people. The days of being disadvantaged due to living outside urban centres are over.
I want to thank my beloved sister, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State for Labour and Employment for being part of the event, even on short notice, the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon Amobi Ogah, and other distinguished guests. I have taken note of all the requests that were made particularly, the Enugu Port link road from Leru, Lekwesi, to Lokpanta and Lokpaukwu. They have already been earmarked for reconstruction. I have also directed the Commissioner for Works to go and inspect the damaged Mmam bridge. He will revert to me and then we plan on how to fix it.
I invite stakeholders and community members to take ownership of the project and ensure its success. Cooperation with security agents will guarantee the safety of equipment on-site.
Remember, development is tied to funding. Regular payment of taxes and statutory fees is crucial for funding these projects. Every penny paid will be properly utilized and accounted for. Rebuilding Umunneochi and Abia is our collective responsibility. Let us work together to make it happen.
The SWIFT project will expand access to Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs) through pharmacies & PPMVs, fostering entrepreneurship & financial independence. This strengthens women's roles in development & job creation.
By bringing family planning closer to communities, The SWIFT Project is aiming to drastically improve womens health.

Global challenges like pandemics, climate change, food security, etc can only be solved by determined multilateralism, i.e. an alliance of multiple countries pursuing a common goal.
Thank you, Minister @Karl_Lauterbach for expressing #Germany's continued support to @WHO
@kojere@SFHNigeria Can’t wait to see the “intentionality” hit the waves. The success of @SFHNigeria as an indigenous Nigerian organization growing into a global brand and floating @SFHAccessBrands in 40 years being authored by @Omokhudu_I and @JAnyantiSFH will actually be a module in public health

Today, we were in Umuahia the Capital City of our dear state, Abia, for our Thanksgiving Service. The good and hardworking people of God's Own State trooped out en masse to offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to God for a new era of purposeful governance in Abia State.
