I saw this colour ringed BTGodwit in Iceland last week and have just found out that it was ringed in Norfolk as an immature 20 years ago and has been seen at @NWTCleyCentre on multiple occasions since but never in Iceland, it was clearly paired up on breeding territory, amazing!
@cashandcarrots@sean_nixon Thanks Michelle, we head there tomorrow, I’ve already had an amazing time in the west, most of the expected superstars and even managed to find a pair of Surf Scoter this morning 😁
@sean_nixon Cracking shot, please can you let me know how did you get access? I’m staying 2 minutes away and had a look tonight but no sign from outside the garden
Very lucky to find this female Ferruginous duck on my local nature reserve, it’s never had anything rare on it before, surprisingly the first Shropshire record for 23 years!
Who doesn’t love a Teal? What gorgeous little ducks they are!! The Eurasian was much more active than the sleepy Green-winged at Morfa Madryn this afternoon
Best views I’ve ever had of Hawfinch on the ground at Llanrwst, such stunning birds, at least 2 present (1 male and 1 female) feeding amongst at least 100 other finches mostly Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch and Siskin
@MallingBirder This was Thursday morning, it was on show pretty much all morning then but has been absent since very early Friday morning as far as I am aware
Ok so I dipped the Owl last night but it was still a good day adding Yellow Warbler to myUK list!! It hardly came into the Alders in 4 hours but was on almost constant show around the concrete walled filter bed too far for the camera but excellent scope views 👍
Clear highlight of day 14 on Shetland today was the best views I’ve ever had of a Great Grey Shrike at Quendale, it had freshly caught a mouse and the views got more gruesome… @BirdGuides@RareBirdAlertUK
@01000011S@YeovilBirder Another great find guys, thoroughly deserved given the hour’s of effort you have both put in over the last 2 weeks, 1 more day to find the ‘biggie’!
