Director Anti-Cheat Engineering @EA. Previous @Blizzard_Ent. My posts & opinions are my own and not those of my employer. Husband. Father of 2. He/him. BLM.
@Lon@ItsGamerDoc "We don’t let random software vendors install persistent kernel hooks for “ecosystem integrity” in finance, healthcare, or critical systems."
Yes you do. Almost all of you have kernel level EDRs on your machines, and if you don't, you will immediately after your first compromise
@NupeKeem We had an opportunity to brand the EA Anti-Cheat earlier this year and went with Javelin.
The client is improved from before, but it's the same dev team.
Also helps to steer language away from "EAAC" as Epic has a good market on the EAC acronym.
@tugberk@deteccphilippe The block is on the Javelin side, not the Valorant side. We'll clean up error messaging in time for launch.
Just stop running multiple game clients at once, your CPU & GPU will thank you in the end.
Vanguard is compatible with Javelin, and you don't need to uninstall one anti-cheat to use the other.
However, BF6 does not currently allow the VALORANT client to be running simultaneously, because both drivers race to protect regions of game memory with the same technique.
I want to shout out again -
We have a fully automated CI pipeline that does retail testing of our anticheat alongside all of our integrated titles on real machines.
This allows us to ensure stability and copy the experience our real players have into our test environment.
@OBSProject Following up for the rest of the X/Twitterverse (is there a good word for this now? I'm pretty out of the loop I guess).
Anyways, where was I?
Oh yeah, thanks OBS team for updating the tracker site!
EA anticheat has its green checkmark, we're good to go when you update. :)
@BabaIsMyself @OBSProject We don't control the Steam ratings of what's "playable" on Steam Deck.
Linux support is something we'd eventually like to tackle, but need more support from SteamOS, as most Linux security features are disabled by default, something we continue to discuss with Valve.
@der_rod@OBSProject Earliest I can get this out is about 2 weeks, but should be good to from there based on your own information "in the coming months," yea?
twitter released the algorithm source code and im fucking dying. @CaseyNewton was right
they really did have to spend engineering time sating that fucking loser's desire to feel popular by way of performance stats lmao
