Tech Revolt for Palestine!
From weapons of war to tools of mass surveillance, tech powers the colonization of Palestine. We are calling for tech students and workers to boycott defense companies and any Israeli tech companies. Sign the pledge and share!

While it's nearly impossible to boycott companies like Apple, Microsoft, or Intel, we CAN lessen our consumption of their products. You can do this by:
💻 using your devices longer
📱 repairing your devices
💾 buying used!
Resist consumerism (and save money) at all costs!
Tech companies make money (and buy more cobalt) when you buy more of their products. They want to lock us in a 'fast tech' cycle of constantly buying the newest phones, laptops, and other tech devices.
I am so excited for this project. Hear from 15 data workers around the world who created amazing outputs like in depth reports, documentaries, zines, comic books and more.
See you on July 8th at 8am PDT/5pm CET. RSVP at https://t.co/j9bCzpEm7a
Computer vision is used ~primarily~ for surveillance. To deny the field's military origins is ahistorical.
So not only is this tweet deeply offensive to the families of 40,000 dead Palestinians, it's also just flat out ignorant.
As tech students and workers, it's our responsibility to recognize how our work contributes to and fuels the exploitation of the Congolese people. Follow @congofriends@FocusCongo_DRC@teamcongordc to learn more and visit https://t.co/akvO8cpgrw to take action!
Cobalt powers everything from our smartphones and the batteries in our laptops to "green" EVs. The tech industry is fueling an illegal mining rush in Congo, with Congolese men, women, and children paying the price.
Congo only gained its independence from Belgium in 1960. In the 64 years since, the country has been racked by violence and unrest due to militia groups, leaving most Congolese people living in abject poverty. Many children have been found working in cobalt mines as a result.
shame on columbia, yale, nyu, and all universities violent punishing their students for resisting genocide. history will not be kind to the 21st century nazis in our midst who cheer on genocide
going to be really interesting when Biden tells all the kids he called antisemitic - and told their administrators call the cops on them - to vote for him to avoid fascism
Breaking: The students and workers of #MIT establish the Scientists Against Genocide Encampment on MIT’s Kresge Lawn
“MIT has received OVER $11 MILLION in research funding from the Ministry of Defense of Israel since 2015…. We will NOT REST until MIT cuts research ties with the Israeli military.”

Can't help but feel pride in so many students--Columbia, BU, Yale, UNC, and likely many schools that are not going to get any press--putting themselves on the line for Gaza.
Meanwhile, many of my tenured peers haven't said a peep about the genocide in over six months.
It's not lost on me that the author of this message, Head of Global Security Chris Rackow, was formerly a Navy SEAL, at the FBI, and a development manager at Raytheon.
Military industrial complex and Big Tech going hand-in-glove quite nicely.
