@waitwhat Let's say you drive only once or twice a week. Would you pay a massive 11k upfront or a 100$/month for the little convenience that it brings? That's the situation I'm in and having a hard-time justifying the extra cost. I would probably subscribe for road trips but that's all.

@farzyness I respect you a lot but I think you should document yourself better on tarrifs. Apparently Trump himself doesn’t understand shit about them either because his numbers are completely made up. They are not tarrifs imposed on US goods but trade imbalances.

@farzyness @Cadessbor Why do we keep talking about supply management for dairy products. Dairy represents less than 1% of imports and no one ever paid any tariffs on it because the US never reached the free quota cap. It’s just a bogus reason to justify stupid tariffs. Not reciprocal in any way.

@maraleluke @wholemars I was thinking exactly the same thing. The tariffs for Chinese EVs were imposed out of solidarity with the US to protect jobs in US/Canada but if Trump is to kill those jobs anyway, might as well open the gates and let the other American car companies slowly go bankrupt.

@TSLAFanMtl Never understood why they purposely delayed/canceled the new factory. Focussing on FSD is not a valid pretext as it involves only software engineers. Getting the maximum number of cars on the road should definitely still be a priority, FSD or not, it doesn’t matter.
