THE COMPLETE KUBRICK 📕 Thirteen films, one singular collection. https://t.co/1ACK3GTiaD
Introducing THE COMPLETE KUBRICK: an unprecedented box set bringing together Stanley Kubrick’s entire directorial output for the first time. A titan of cinema whose influence extends across visual art, philosophy, politics, technology, fashion, and beyond, Kubrick created an unparalleled string of masterpieces. Over the years, his body of work has been collected on home video only in partial form, never as a whole—until now.
Its crazy that hundreds of thousands of people in Puerto Rico have been without water for weeks and its expected to continue being an issue until December, but some of the first reports on the subject are about how it’s affecting tourism and tourists as if theyre the main victims
PUERTO RICANS R BEING DENIED BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS (WATER) BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT FUCKING SUCKS. I HAVENT HAD WATER RUNNING FOR DAYS BUT I CANNOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE HERE WHO HAVENT HAD WATER FOR OVER A MONTH. WATER! SOMETHING WE NEED TO SURVIVE IS NOT A PRIORITY.
the idea that every prestige movie has to be have a writer-director is disastrous imho. there's like four directors who are good screenwriters and two screenwriters who are good directors.

compensation on film sets shouldn’t really be a discourse thing because there is a very obvious thing it reveals, and that is that labor *should* result in some form of literal ownership
One last thing on the art director story. She’s not complaining. She’s making no demands. She’s merely pointing out the reality that is working in independent film. Anyone saying she’ll never work again are not only wrong, they are gross.
below the line crew earning $300/day (or acting as unpaid volunteers) on a production while sharing in none of the $200m profit of a runaway b.o. success*is* actual exploitation, even if it's normalized in the industry.
