The former OpenAI researcher built a roughly $20 billion leveraged AI hedge fund before age 25, then a sharp AI-stock sell-off pushed it to seek fresh capital and sell assets amid the risk of forced liquidation.

Don’t become a high-conviction technology investor without understanding as many layers of engineering and product as you can. Otherwise, you’ll risk serious capital on technologies, products and markets you cannot truly evaluate.

But the opposite is just as dangerous:

Don’t become an engineer or product builder without learning how to invest. You may spend your life building the future while someone else owns it.

Understand the technology.
Understand the product.
Own the upside.
