@KCF_UC @laurarw I feel like AI in SM will be used as an option if you want to use it. For example, siri, Google Assistant, alexa, etc. They are integrated in apps but for optional use most of the time. I can't see people using AI in sm too much. It might just be another algorithmic ploy

@LovettCarli @laurarw Surprisingly, I know a few people (older) who still have cable, I think they are used to it&don't feel like switching. I think streaming services took over bc the cable companies were overcharging people bc at the time they had no competition until recently. @laurarw #ucengl2074

@AverySomerville @laurarw I remember when snapchat started to do this&people were freaking out about it. I think it should be free, but if people wanna pay for more SM amenities then they can. @lilianephills @laurarw I love the way that technology has been more integrated into school more, but I never thought of how SM has affected school in a communal kind of way. This could help students who feel lost find a new friend group or community. Which can be beneficial. @laurarw #ucengl2074

@meredith_rickey I would say it's a concern. I was only 12 years old when I started to get on SM frequently&I think that is still too young. After seeing my younger family members be exposed to SM at a young age, it has affected them dramatically (sleep, school, self-esteem). @laurarw #ucengl2074

Considering this was written before the pandemic, I would say that the correlation is even worse now b/c people had to stay inside&with SM being one of the main things to consume our time, mental illness probably increased drastically. @laurarw #ucengl2074

@amberambber @laurarw SM has changed many aspects of the way people look at themselves. Rather, that is the beauty standard or even the brand of clothes that we wear. SM has impacted what we should look like even when we aren't posting on SM. @laurarw #ucengl2074

@Eli22701 I feel like this war has had misinformation but also as recently as the past few years with the pandemic. Misinformation can be dangerous, but factual information can be even more dangerous if labeled "misinformation" This leads to people being deceived @laurarw #ucengl2074

@MewMew518 @laurarw I think if people used SM during free time alone besides using while their partner is around, it would be better on the relationship.The more screen time lowers the time that could be used to talk/interact with loved ones,which doesn’t help the relationship. @laurarw #ucengl2074

@2021nandersen @laurarw I agree that the algorithm helps drive people to new videos based on their interests, I wouldn't have known half of the youtubers I know now if it wasn't for YT's algorithm.
