@prof_oak123 @ashwinravi99 Agree with you. A turning pitch that turns from ball 1, can only turn more with progress of the match. Batting will never become easier, pace bowlers are rendered ineffective from ball 1. But excess seam movement is also not good.
@ashwinravi99@root66 The biggest tragedy is that India is such a good team now, that it can win on any surface. Making a rank turner like this one is an insult to the Indian team itself.
@ashwinravi99@root66 You asked what is a good pitch. A good pitch is where batsmen, fast bowlers and spinners are all in the game, and leads to an absorbing contest. And yes, a pitch that has excess turn from ball 1 is a bad pitch, because it is already deteriorated from that ball.
@ashwinravi99@root66@ashwinravi99@root66 the players, viewers, cricketing fraternity is the real loser here because BCCI decided to force upon us a pitch that did not give a good contest. The batsmen and pace bowlers were out of the contest from ball 1.
@MichaelVaughan@MichaelVaughan , how about doing away with the toss and let visiting teams choose whether to bat/bowl first ? This will even the contest a bit, and force home teams to prepare true surfaces that play fair for close to 5 days.
@KP24@imVkohli@KP24 how about we take toss out of the equation and let visiting teams get the choice of bat/bowl first ? This will encourage hosts to prepare wickets that will play true over most of 5 days. Spectators will get to see better cricket.
