50 protestors were arrested by Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar yesterday late in the evening. Not one BJP, OPPOSITION neta has demanded amnesty.
HOW MANY CJP ACTIVISTS HELD FOR JANTAR MANTAR VIOLENT NEET PROTEST? = 0
HOW MANY PRO-MERIT PROTESTORS DETAINED FOR PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST QUOTA AT JANTAR MANTAR? = > 50
How many "freedom of expression activists" demanding the release of "meritorious" protestors? = 0
WHAT'S THE MAIN DEMAND OF ANTI-QUOTA PROTESTORS:
Reservations should go to poor, not castes.
IS MAKING SUCH A DEMAND PEACEFULLY A REASON TO DETAIN/ARREST?
AIR 4 in IIT-JEE. IAS at 21, in his first attempt. A rising bureaucrat shaping India's AI and EV strategies at NITI Aayog.
And then, in 2019, he resigned to sing.
Kashish Mittal was born in 1989 in Jalandhar, Punjab, the son of an IPS officer and a mother who filled the home with music. He began Hindustani classical training at age eight. At eleven, he performed at the Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, one of India's oldest classical music festivals.
He was also, simultaneously, one of the country's most academically exceptional students.
After IIT Delhi and a Computer Science degree, he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his first attempt with AIR 58, joining the IAS at 21. He served as Additional Deputy Commissioner in Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioner of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, and Additional Principal Secretary at NITI Aayog, working on India's AI policy, the Aspirational Districts Programme, and digital health strategies.
But throughout it all, the tanpura sat in the corner of his life, never quite silenced.
In 2019, he made the choice that defined him more than any exam rank had: he resigned from the IAS to pursue Hindustani classical music of the Agra Gharana, training under Pandit Yashpaul in the traditional guru-shishya parampara. He earned the A Grade artiste rating from All India Radio and Doordarshan, and was recognised as an Established Artiste by the ICCR.
"Even during my school and IIT years," he has said, "I never let go of music. It was always there, a quiet force pulling me in."
A casual performance of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Unke Andaz-e-Karam, filmed informally among friends, went viral on Instagram with over three million views.
In 2020, he joined Microsoft Research as Principal Research Program Manager, working on AI for Societal Impact. In March 2025, he left to co-found Disha AI, a Bengaluru startup building AI-powered tutors in Indian regional languages, backed by South Park Commons.
One life was never going to be enough for Kashish Mittal. He is living all of them at once.
She is not a criminal. She isn't carrying a weapon. She is just an Adivasi woman fighting for Jal-Jangal-Jameen and her constitutional rights.
This is how she is being treated. There are countless others facing the same. Why is nobody talking about them??

@shashidigital Shashi, I have always wondered why your reach is so low.
It can only be explained by the way you suck upto current dispensation.
Doesn’t go with your education and background @iitbombay
Countless men fought, so many died, hundreds of years of struggle and we got Ram temple built. And in couple of years people are stealing crores from same Ram temple. Hinduism is in danger but more from our own folks who can really betray even deepest of faith.
@dibakardutta_ Whats the problem if they are raising right issues. They might fail if public doesn’t like it
Why withhold their account??
