@sergeslothrop@rorysutherland You can absolutely do that without paying £450k for a degree. Plus, if you are spending that much on a degree then a lot of them would clearly be from their country's elite which again begs the question why bother with medicine except perhaps Cambridge bragging rights
@richtrades100@rorysutherland As far as I was aware, UK medical qualifications are not directly recognized in the US. Plus wouldn't it be easier to just qualify in the states, surely at £450k it's more than enough for most American schools
@AaronBastani Tbh once you hit £100k in Britain the most rational choice is to emigrate. No party will ever fix this because there is a crabs in a bucket mentality in the country and too few people make this amount.
@MMASchopenhauer@ZiaYusufUK The killer was a liar, if the turban was banned he simply would've lied about something else... And again re the hijab there are parents out there who beat their kids and manage to hide the injuries without the hijab... Having said that, I do see an argument for a child hijab ban
@MMASchopenhauer@ZiaYusufUK Because a foreign dress code is as intimidating as a bloody blade 🤣🤣 I'm not fan of burqas and what not either but this is a free country people can dress however they like, blades on the other hand are clearly a safety issue. What's next? We ban blue hair? Goths? What next?!
@owenjonesjourno Honestly who cares if more rich people are living there if anything , a formerly poorer area becoming richer is a GOOD thing. And how did they get "forced out"? Did the black shirts force them out? ANY housing supplying is good supply because it increases the total supply
@the_nellybelly This is just stupid. Keeping ticket prices low for fans makes community sense but if the bundesliga is called SAP bundesliga or whatever who actually gives a shit especially if it brings in extra money for the clubs with NO extra cost to the fans
@nikicaga Inflation is always more hated by voters than unemployment because it affects EVERYONE. Even at 10% unemployment 90% of the population has a job with the added benefit of very low inflation. Also when people get pay rises due to gov policy they think it's due to their own effort
@acuset857 Contrary to popular belief, Britain is actually pretty good for those on the lower end of the income spectrum. But if we start talking about the professional jobs that's where the situation is messed up. Wage compression is very real in the UK
@redrumlisa What a disingenuous argument. They'd have a private pension ON TOP of the 12.5k... Additionally, ending the triple lock means getting rid of the ridiculous "highest of" criteria. You can still just link it to inflation.
@BatmanDX99@no1fif What's the point in calling Zohran out when he's clearly on the Palestinian side but obviously has to show some pragmatism due to political realities?
