My boyfriend told me he was "going out with the boys" last night and i said ok cool have fun. he came back at 11pm covered in glitter and i was like what the hell happened and he said "pottery class" which made NO SENSE. turns out "the boys" is him and four other guys from his gym who take a weekly pottery class together and they've been doing this for EIGHT MONTHS. he's been lying about boys night. it IS boys night but it's POTTERY. i asked why he didn't just tell me and he said "i don't know it felt weird to say" i made him show me what he's made and he has a CABINET full of mugs and bowls in his apartment that i thought he bought but he MADE THEM. they're actually really good. he's got a mug with my name on it that he was too embarrassed to give me. all his boys have matching plates they made. they have a group chat called "clay bros" i'm dating a man who's been in a secret pottery club for months. he made me promise not to tell their girlfriends. i'm keeping pottery secrets now

Dolly was born in East Tennessee and used her success to make it better. So much money from her attractions and fame came into our mountain communities and was put into schools and infrastructure. She made the Imagination Library to help childhood literacy in Appalachia. Every month since our daughter was born, the library has sent her a book with a note from Dolly encouraging her to be proud of where she’s from and to learn the importance of the stories that built us. Her husband passed last year and she spoke of being reunited with him. I’m glad heaven is a little sweeter, and sings a little better for it. Rest in peace to the Queen of Appalachia, Jolene could never.
