Can you imagine spending $70 million of taxpayers' money... and incinerating it?

That's exactly what happened in the Tylenol deal.

This wasn't simply an expensive mistake.

It was a failure of process, oversight, and accountability.

Here was the deal:

$70 million paid up front.

$10 million administration fee.

$10 million worth of unusable product from Turkey.

Approximately $50 million still outstanding.

A lower-cost North American supplier passed over.

The successful contractor later became the subject of an RCMP Organized Crime Unit investigation.

The company remains eligible to bid on government contracts.

Several family members affiliated with the company were hired into government, and some continue to work there today.

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has updated a Tornado Watch.

This alert is in effect for Co. of Paintearth near Brownfield.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.
The greatest risk for tornadoes will be through 7 PM local time.
Any storm with the potential to produce tornadoes will be accompanied by hail up to the size of baseballs.

In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area:
Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet.
Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can.
As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.
If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take cover immediately.
When out on the water, if threatening weather approaches make for shore and take shelter immediately.
It is dangerous to be on a small craft on the open water when lightning is occurring.
