@cjasonmaier Corporate greed, government interference, it's all a necessary part of Bitcoin's development. Greed is the tool that drives adoption in the long term. Trust the process.
@cjasonmaier I think you're missing the forest for the trees. You can't have all those nice things unless Bitcoin price blows past our collective imagination. No unbanked person will want to be paid in currency that fluctuates as much as BTC today.
@KantHores@aleabitoreddit There is infinite demand for intelligence, and additional intelligence drives demand for additional intelligence - it's exponential. Even if less memory would be needed per compute unit, overall demand would still grow exponentially. Same for compute, storage, networking, power.
@amitisinvesting@joinautopilot It may very well be an indication that their data is garbage and has little value to Google. Try asking Google questions like "best vacuum 2026 reddit" and use the result to guide an actual purchase. Garbage in, garbage out.
@IncomeSharks I think the most likely solution for memes ruining crypto is memes ruining the stock market. My AI bag is more volatile than my Bitcoin bag by a wide margin.
@bitcoinwell AI slop and shortsighted take. In case of chain split, the economic value of each chain will decide which one is the "real" Bitcoin. Saylor's support means a real likelihood Strategy dumps BIP-110 coins and the BIP fails. Money decides. Your node just follows; it's irrelevant.
@MoodyWriter13@larmatrade Or... it might just be that he's a genuine guy that accidentally became famous and now is learning on the job what responsibilities and obligations come with that. Don't attribute to malice what can easily be attributed to incompetence.
@MoodyWriter13 He has had an amazing run even before this year on reddit. I had set up notifications to trigger whenever he posted because he's pumped out banger after banger even when his audience was small, and these weren't small caps.
I think your read on him is completely off base.
@DawsonNiehus@bmacncheese_btc@AdamBLiv Key point here is - it's not money, yet. Right now we are still firmly in the speculative phase, and this may well last longer than our lifetimes. If you buy Bitcoin, you are an investor in an attempt to make this future a reality. It may fail, or you will benefit handsomely.
@DawsonNiehus@bmacncheese_btc@AdamBLiv If Bitcoin does get to this size (however big that may turn out to be), then the size of Bitcoin itself also becomes valuable. And then there are countless innovations we could perform to make it scale to fit its function as money.
@vonderleyen This is so out of touch with reality and only hurts consumers' spending power. Retailers order the exact same stuff from temu and aliexpress and charge a 2x, 3x or higher markup. To protect the EU, restore our manufacturing base. We should seriously consider steep tariffs.
If BIP-110 leads to a chain split, the ultimate outcome will in large part be decided by Strategy & BlackRock. Combined they hold >7% of Bitcoin and could dump the disfavored chain into oblivion.
This will create an interesting situation. $IBIT holders are incentivized to sell and buy spot $BTC unless IV picks up (option premiums++) to counter the incentive, so that hodlers can make better money selling volatility. TL;DR I think BIP-110 is going to spike volatility.
