As a GenXer...I've had to deal with Boomers longer than many have been alive.
It isn't the wealth or what they are doing with it, it's the flaunting of it.
Boomers did struggle, there was social upheaval (Viet Nam War, feminism, Watergate, etc.), very high interest rates, lack of credit (my parents have to take a out loan, a second mortgage, and my grandfather had to cosign just to by their first house), oil embargo, NAFTA, etc., etc., etc.
No, the problem is that nearly every Boomer laughs at the younger generations and says, "I'm spending your inheritance, hur-dur." That's the problem.
My grandparents (Greatest Generation) gave their kids and grandkids money. I was able to put down a down payment on my first house with it.
It's this hubris that all of the generations that have come after the Boomers are tired of.

Wives come to resent their husbands on a long enough time line, generally.
Instead of their husbands being awesome supermen, they are...merely...human. Instead of giving grace to this person they CHOSE, they resent them. Barring hormonal issues, resentment leads viewing them as a roommate.

22 yrs ago today, after a long zoning dispute with local officials that ruined his business, welder Marvin Heemeyer had enough & created the Killdozer.

Yeah. I think he's given up: had a girlfriend that dumped him and 3 dates from apps that felt they had no chemistry.
I've tried to help him. His problem is he's highly intelligent and has no patience for BS (like many intelligent people). Also, highly intelligent people don't like being told what to do.

So...my wife has low empathy (at least towards me). She knows I've been really working hard on improving my appearance.
A mutual friend had noticed and made a comment to her. Now, my wife can't let that stand, so she started a major fight over...laundry.
Anyway, today I come to my desk and I see cookies. She knows my weakness is sugar, especially cookies, especially especially chocolate chip cookies, especially especially, especially Chik-Fil-A chocolate chip cookies.
I'm pretty sure she wants me stay unhealthy.
