“The studios want to capitalize on Barbie’s success, Lemon. Lily Collins will star as Polly Pocket in a Lena Dunham movie. Taika Waititi is making a Furby film with Ansel Elgort. We’ve got Werner Herzog directing a Street Sharks movie. Nobody even knows what that is, Lemon.”
Part of why I like this whole thing is twofold:
1. Studios remembering they used to counterprogram for different demos on the same release day. This used to be the move!
2. Everyone rejecting the this-or-that choice and getting hyped about different kinds of movies together
@EmmaTolkin@MovieNerdStone1 Apparently this report was super misleading in general. Anna is a filmmaker working on a documentary on the Wilhelm scream (coming out later this year?) and I think she’ll set the record straight on it.
investigative journalism is when you accept a brand trip from a company that sponsors you and then when you ask a handpicked comms person “are labor conditions ok” and they say “yes” you’re like “k :)” and make a video about it
