Kenya Private Sector-Focused PPP Symposium 2026: The PPP Directorate showcases Kenya’s KES 1.1 Trillion Investment Portfolio
At today’s Kenya Private Sector-Focused PPP Symposium 2026, the PPP Director General, Eng. Kefa Seda, presented an update on Kenya’s growing PPP pipeline and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to creating a transparent, bankable and investor-friendly PPP ecosystem.
With 51 active projects valued at over KES 1.1 trillion across eight key sectors including roads and transport, agriculture, energy and power, housing, health, water and sanitation, urban development, and telecommunications - Kenya’s PPP programme continues to gain momentum. This growth is driven by stronger project preparation, enhanced investor protections under the PPP Act 2021, and deliberate efforts to de-risk projects and accelerate financial close.
His message to investors was clear: "Kenya is not asking investors to take a chance on the country; it is offering a structured, government-backed pipeline with a proven track record of delivery. The time to partner is now". @EngKefaSeda@SDPI_AM@KeTreasury@WorldBankKenya

The @ppp_kenya Directorate called for increased private-sector financing to expedite the KSh 28.4 billion Life Sciences project, thereby accelerating implementation, de-risking delivery, and anchoring Kenya’s ambition to become a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
As global health funding declines, dependence on a narrow set of manufacturers puts access at risk. New evidence shows why reforming development finance is essential to unlock sustainable, local production of medicines and diagnostics.
