What it means to gazette or domesticate a trade commitment?

A gazette officially announces new regulations that have come into force. It enhances transparency while ensuring that businesses, organisations and citizens are informed about the new regulations taking effect.

It marks a significant step toward the full implementation of the AfCFTA Agreement.

For traders, this brings clarity and certainty - confirming that Zambia will apply preferential tariff treatment to eligible goods upon importation, in alignment with its commitments under the AfCFTA Agreement.

On Day 2 of the APRM support mission to Liberia the delegation led by Amb @APRM_MarieRose interacted with several ministries including the Ministries of Health; Education; Gender, Children and Social Protection; and Commerce and Industries. The discussions particularly highlighted the role of state actors within the APRM Review process.

As the process of the APRM prpgresses in Liberia and the National Governing Council is established, the APRM will be deploying another mission to strengthen the capacity of national structures to undertake the 2nd country review.
