i think a lot of people are missing the point when it comes to informed consent. if someone believes they’re speaking to another woman and feels comfortable sharing personal, private, or even intimate things because of that understanding, it matters if they’ve been deliberately misled. and it isn’t strictly about sexual things either, although that certainly is apart of the conversation too.

you can’t make an informed decision about what you’re comfortable sharing with someone when they’re intentionally deceiving you about who they are.

Based on what I'm reading on here, the United States should have surrendered in the fall of 1776. There was no victory in sight, the British Army seemed unstoppable. Young men were needlessly dying in a war the US could never win.
