We had a very successful and productive meeting today with one of the most influential ministers of the Pakistani government, who is also representing Pakistan in the United Nations events.

Our discussion covered a wide range of important topics, including Pakistan–U.S. relations, the challenges faced by our community in America, and the need for unity and stronger local political engagement. We also explored the critical areas of education in Pakistan, with a focus on creating greater uniformity, population control, and healthcare.

Additionally, we discussed ways to bring healthcare professionals from Pakistan to the United States to help serve our communities here. These are key issues that APPAC will continue to work on, and we will keep everyone updated as progress is made.

It was a true honor for the APPAC Board to host and meet with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in New York. The board engaged in a thoughtful and productive discussion, congratulating the Minister on Pakistan’s strategic success in the recent Pakistan-India conflict and the remarkable outcomes of the high-profile U.S. tour.

The visit of Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal, and his historic meeting with President Donald Trump marked a significant milestone in Pak-U.S. relations. Minister Naqvi played an instrumental role throughout this impactful tour, and we were privileged to hear his insights firsthand.

APPAC remains pro-Pakistan and pro-state, with no political affiliations. Our mission is to advocate for the interests of Pakistan and the Pakistani-American community with unity, dignity, and vision.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who just passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, was a true public servant. She served in Congress for decades and I was fortunate to serve as her co-chair of the Pakistan Caucus.

Two years ago, I had the privilege of witnessing her unyielding dedication to human rights when we were the first Members of Congress to travel to Pakistan to advocate for humanitarian aid after devastating and unprecedented flooding.

Sheila was a fearless advocate for racial, criminal, and social justice, and she was also a trusted colleague and a cherished friend.
