Appiko's first foray into injection molding for the fence monitoring project. We're fine-tuning mass manufacturing to create #TechForWildlife impact at scale.

We're working on a system that detects breaches of electric fences, especially by elephants, to provide immediate warning to the forest department. Check our blog for an overview and early results. #Tech4Wildlife#IoT#Appiko

Yup, an amazing meetup! Two quote from the meetup that popped up
@RolandKays "we as humanity haven't figured out how to make a commercial camera trap for conservationists"
Sara Beery "Machine Learning for camera trapping data is only going to get better and better"
The second rig is a block of heated aluminum to emulate an animal to measure the response time of the camera trap to capture an image. Folks around Bengaluru, can we please borrow your camera traps to compare? Thanks in advance.
We want to compare @conservationx project's prototype SenseCam the existing camera traps using a couple of rigs. First is measuring the motion blur in complete darkness at a distance of 4m.
Our @conservationx project's chugging along well. Now we've got a powerful 30W LED to freeze motion in the #cameratrap we're developing. Checkout the 960 fps video of it working. #tech4wildlife

@msenese@petewarden@aallan@chr1sa They're from the two big LEDs around the camera. We were in the darkness for a bit trying to get a LED flash that's ON for a few ms and with enough brightness to illuminate at 4m. Enlightened now, we'll have a prototype in a couple of weeks. 💥
Congratulations to @HayderYousif23 and Ziquin Zho for winning the #AI#Cameratrap classification challenge and kudos for making the source code available https://t.co/xZFbI9FQBd
Today's generation are going to respond to the WHY
With some luck, we might just do something great with our future
I'm feeling the #ConservationOptimism
Thanks for a great closing plenary and conference overall @ICCB2019 #ICCB2019@Society4ConBio#OnePeopleOneReef
Great to hear Betty Yeoh & Ivy Josiah explain so simply how to identify, address and prevent harassment primary due to power imbalances. So much to takeaway. Thanks @Society4ConBio#ICCB2019
