Been reading Digital Design and Computer Architecture, RISC-V Edition by Harris & Harris. Love the book, especially because there are over a 100 lectures by the authors on YouTube covering most of the book. (1/2)
Seven years ago, I designed a pair of FPGA based earrings for my wife. (Totally overkill for this application, I know.) She wore it out last night and it still works! Assembled by my pal @SivaPrakazh. You can read about the project here:
Before #AI acceleration became a priority, #FPGAs changed computing by making hardware reprogrammable after manufacturing. Now an @IEEEorg Milestone, they enabled faster innovation in #networking, modern AI systems, and beyond. Learn more at @IEEESpectrum: https://t.co/6EGvCvmPK9
Quite thrilled to get 6 channel I2S mic + audio on USB UAC1 working on iCE40 FPGA. Only possible because of work by Wang Xuan (link below) which Claude helped me modify. This mic array project is something I wanted to attempt for a long time...
Around 2021, I spent over a year trying to write an introductory book on FPGAs. Ultimately I had to abandon the project because of other commitments. I am now starting to publish projects that I worked on. Here's the first one:
.@Raspberry_Pi Pico ePaper T/H display - works great, but sleep current is 4mA - it was < ~100 nA on breadboard, so something's off. Hardware is hard.🙂
