I see various teams out there packaging up 𝟏-𝟕 above, I think 𝟖 is typically not the AI/DS/ML IC's concern, and 𝟗 is handled by the founder / product manager.
Do I have this right that to be a full stack builder / tech lead of a 2024 AI/LLM app, one would need to make feature/performance/cost decisions on:
⒈ vendor (OpenAI/Mistral)
⒉ model (GPT4/Llama3)
⒊ vector store (chromedb/pinecone)
⒋ embedding (openai/🤗)
⒌ framework (dspy/langchain/llamaindex)
⒍ backend (python/ts/rust)
⒎ frontend framework (DIY/OSS)
⒏ infra (local/paas/iaas/edge)
⒐ monetization (subscription/usage meter)
This list definitely not exhaustive. 🤔
I'll be at #ICLR2024 in person. Hope to chat with old and new friends. We will present several works at @Apple:

The Entity-Deduction Arena.
- AGI workshop 5/11 @ 9p
Everybody uses VSCode for free now, but about 14 years ago Visual Studio 2010 Professional was there for $800 for .NET, C++ and Visual Basic Programming when that was cool
I'll be at #ICLR2024 in person during May 7-11 at Vienna! Come to check our papers!

I'm excited to chat about generative models and @Apple!
We need a word for the disturbing feeling we experience when AI images include odd abnormalities (e.g. too many fingers, limbs that transform into something else). "Uncanny valley" describes the image, not the emotion.
Here's my best attempt:
- dysplasticity (n.) [From Greek dys- 'bad, abnormal' + plasticity 'capability of being shaped or molded; adaptability'] The quality or state of having dysplastic features, particularly in artificially generated images or forms, characterized by abnormal or deformed appearances that deviate from expected norms.
- dysplastalgia (n.) [From Greek -algia 'pain'] A feeling of discomfort or distress induced by observing dysplastic images or forms, especially those created by artificial means, where the abnormalities or deformities create an unsettling or eerie effect.
What do you think? Can you do better? #AI #Linguistics
