@RocksTorum This is a misrepresentation of our true beliefs. Our view is that goodness is of God, and if a church teaches truth then the Holy Spirit can testify of its truthfulness. So yes many Christian churches have goodness. But we believe they lack the fullness of the restored gospel.
@FiredUpCoug I did not grow up hunting. My brother in law married into a hunting family, and I learned from him/them at 38. I love it. Just start! Research the DWR sites, learn where the units are, apply for tags, etc etc. I look forward to it every single year!
@Truth_matters20 Because God didn’t write anything. His servants did (you know, the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and so many others). And yes, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does direct everyone to the writings of God’s servants.
@Matthew56193629 This is not the gotcha that you think it is. If you’re going to go after a religion, you should probably do some actual research and at least know what they believe. This is retarded.
@realDrTT I’ve seen different members say different things in this regard, but for me I know I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ and it is his church I belong to, and if it comes up I am happy to discuss it. But I don’t feel the need to rudely correct someone every time LDS or Mormon are used.
@realDrTT Here’s the thing, “member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” is the correct term, but it’s quite long. It’s not practical to use EVERY time. ‘Mormon’ was created originally as a derogatory slur, then later adopted as a sort of nickname. ‘LDS’ omits Christs name.
@realDrTT While the official name of the church and its members hasn’t changed, the nicknames or shortened versions have. One of our prophets did a campaign embracing the term I’m a Mormon. Another one encouraged us to use the proper FULL name as much as possible.
@realDrTT So you can see the dilemma. In reality it’s not practical to use the full correct term in EVERY setting. But the full name is important to identify WHOSE church it is and who we are followers and disciples of.
