"Of course I would stand up for someone in a bad or dangerous situation!" - say the ones who can't even call out the bad they see around them or recognize the harm they cause and allow
NAMJOON TALKING ABOUT HOW ART AND ARTISTS SAVED HIS LIFE OMG🥹
🐨:"It (art) saved me. They (artists) saved my life. Some passed away. Some of them are alive. And I can see one over here. *pointing to artist Lee Wonwoo Art* saved my life"
This is gonna sound "woo woo" but concerts are an energy exchange. Higher ups pushing money over art results in people valuing content over connection. When you give over control to energy vampires it ruins things. Artists, protect your art! True fans, don't conceed your space!
like i’m just fucking IRRITATEDDDDDDD fangirling isn’t what it used to be. it’s turned into the interaction olympics and scalper HQ and “influencer” fans who don’t even really care about the art or the community of it or any of it really actually why the fuck are you here
@Silentpawz1 I really try to be. 🥲 Nobody's perfect, we all have things to improve upon, but it's drives me up a wall when I see so many people helping someone up with one hand while punching down with the other.
Long Covid is a women’s issue: women are disproportionately affected.
A Black issue: Black communities bear a disproportionate burden of COVID and Long Covid.
A Latino issue: Latino people are disproportionately affected by Long Covid, reflecting disparities in exposure, work, and healthcare.
An Indigenous issue: Indigenous communities have suffered disproportionate infection, illness, and long-term consequences.
A Trans issue: emerging evidence suggests Trans people are disproportionately affected by Long Covid.
A children’s issue: Long Covid is one of the most consequential new chronic illnesses affecting children.
A disability issue: it is disabling millions in a society where disability itself creates barriers to income, housing, healthcare, and participation.
A class issue: your job, housing, income, and ability to afford protection all shape your risk of infection - and your ability to survive chronic illness.
A labor issue: workers are repeatedly exposed, denied adequate sick leave, and expected to work through infection and disability.
A carceral issue: incarcerated people face repeated exposure with little control over their environment or access to prevention and care.
A housing issue: crowded housing increases transmission, while illness and lost income increase housing insecurity.
An education issue: chronic illness means missed school, lost educational opportunities, and sick teachers, students, and caregivers.
An economic issue: Long Covid reduces employment and earnings while shifting the enormous costs of chronic illness onto individuals and families.
A healthcare issue: access to diagnosis, specialists, treatment, insurance, and even being believed is profoundly unequal.
Long Covid follows the fault lines society already created and makes them deeper.
It’s not about “identity politics.” It’s about the social determinants of health.
@PlasticDespair@AdamantxYves Very familiar! At the same time politicians are cutting Medicaid, making it harder for Disabled people to stay in their homes, and many more harmful policies being passed yet not a peep from them.
I wrote my capstone thesis at Berkeley on internet vigilantism. One of the basic takeaways was that these efforts, such as those from Anonymous, really only show up when the law or justice system is allowing egregious harm to come to people. Vigilantism is essentially a marker of our values and does not arise when the justice system actually works.
@FlyersGuy8654 Great to see you, Timmy! Thank you for taking the time to send a greeting. I hope you're having a good week and enjoy the start of October right around the corner. 🎃🍂🍁💜
