Atlanta Public Schools will operate on a remote learning day today, Monday, March 16 due to the impending storm. These conditions are expected to potentially create hazardous travel for buses.
The previously scheduled early release creates logistical challenges that prevent us from operating on a delay to allow the storm to pass. Middle school drop-off would overlap with elementary school pickup, making it challenging to safely adjust the schedule.
Schools and teachers will share specific information about virtual learning options directly with families this morning.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Please be advised that we are closely monitoring the potential for severe thunderstorms expected in the Metro Atlanta area tomorrow morning, which may impact travel conditions during the morning commute.
Atlanta Public Schools will continue to monitor weather conditions and will provide an update as additional information becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and continued support as we prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families.
