I've raised bar of impactful governance in Kwara, my successor should take it higher, Gov Abdulrazaq says as APC holds peaceful state Congress
▪︎Gov praises President Tinubu's reform efforts, leadership

Yesterday, I joined His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, for a memorable Iftar at the State Banquet Hall, alongside party leaders and stakeholders from across our state.
May this blessed month continue to bring peace, unity, and harmony to our communities and our nation.
Today, I inspected the ongoing International Conference Center (IICC) in Ilorin. The IICC is one of the several projects of our administration to refocus the local service economy along technology, innovation, conferencing and hospitality, tourism, creativity, and agribusiness.
I was conducted round the facility by the Construction Manager, Engr. Kola Olowookere. The pace of work and execution standards are truly impressive. I am optimistic that the project will be delivered on schedule.
Our administration has made greater investments in the state's infrastructure over the past six years. The IICC is a pointer to this, and it reflects the kind of legacy we are building for Kwara.
Today, I presented the 2026 Budget of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development before the Joint Committee on Youth Development at the National Assembly. Our proposal reflects a strong focus on capital investment to sustain youth empowerment programmes nationwide.
I briefed the session on our achievements in 2025, including the expansion of the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA), the launch of NIYA Gig and NIYA Startup, the provision of startup grants to over 300 young Nigerians, the creation of 5,000 jobs in the data privacy sector in collaboration with the Nigerian Data Protection Commission, and the resolution of over 6,000 cases through the Youth HelpDesk.
Despite a progressive reduction in budgetary allocation, our commitment remains firm. We are rehabilitating Youth Development Centres across the country, strengthening digital skills partnerships, and advocating for a structured 15% youth development funding framework at national and state levels. Investing in young people is not optional; it is strategic. With sustained legislative support and improved funding releases, we will continue transforming the potential of Nigerian youth into measurable national growth.

Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (representing Kwara North) has made sustained and passionate contributions on the renewed attacks affecting constituents in Kwara North Senatorial District and the Borgu region.
He stressed the urgent need to decisively address the challenge posed by the vast forest belts being exploited by criminal elements, while calling for stronger, coordinated security operations to reclaim and secure our communities.
The Senator also urged the Federal Government to prioritize funding for the construction and rehabilitation of Federal roads within the region emphasizing that improved access and connectivity will not only ease transportation but significantly strengthen the fight against insecurity.
The safety of our people is non-negotiable. Kwara North must be secure, connected, and protected.

The Honourable Minister of Youth Development Comrade Ayodele Olawande joined key partners at the launch of the ICSS MSME Financing Scheme, alongside SMEDAN, Kaduna Business School, the German Cooperation, Jaiz Bank, and other critical stakeholders dedicated to strengthening Nigeria’s enterprise ecosystem.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasized that access to finance remains one of the most significant challenges confronting young Nigerians with bold ideas and the determination to build sustainable businesses. While many young people possess the drive and readiness to work, structured support systems and scalable capital remain critical enablers of enterprise growth.
Through the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), the Federal Ministry of Youth Development continues to address this gap by expanding access to practical skills, digital capabilities, enterprise development pathways, and startup support. The Minister noted, however, that sustained partnership and strategic collaboration are essential to expand opportunities for a greater number of young Nigerians.
He underscored the importance of strong public-private collaboration, stating that when young entrepreneurs are properly trained, structured, and effectively linked to financing, businesses grow, jobs are created, and national confidence in youth enterprise is strengthened.
The Minister further stated that the ICSS Financing Scheme aligns seamlessly with the Ministry’s broader agenda to prepare young entrepreneurs, connect them to markets, and promote responsible financing frameworks that reward preparation, discipline, and sound business structure.
He commended all partners driving the initiative and encouraged young entrepreneurs to build with care, grow sustainably, and create lasting value — reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transforming the narrative of youth enterprise under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
I accompanied His Excellency Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, on a condolence visit to the Government and people of Niger State following the recent security challenges affecting Borgu and other parts of the state.
The visit, took place at the Niger State Government House and our delegation was received by Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago alongside Security Chiefs and other top government officials of the state.
Given the strong geographical and socio-economic ties between Kwara North and neighbouring communities in Niger State, both leaders used the visit to reaffirm their shared resolve to deepen collaboration, strengthen intelligence-sharing, and intensify joint efforts toward tackling insecurity and restoring lasting peace across the affected border communities.
