[Thrilled to play a small part in it] Direct interaction with melanocortin receptors open more questions for satiety regulation. Maybe the answer is the Dawg in us all along #metabolism
A study, published in @ScienceMagazine highlights the value of pet dogs as a model for understanding obesity in both humans and animals. The study, led by PDN Academic @EllieRaffan, illustrates how genetic obesity risk leads to weight gain.

MRAP2 directly modulate hypothalamic GPCRs via overlapping mechanisms. Pathogenic variants of MRAP2 affect these mechanisms and provide insights into the pleiotropic metabolic effects associated with MRAP2 LoF.
Finally got this off the ground. GNAS variant GOF leading to constitutive activity linked to Cushing's. Not the first time this GNAS variant is spotted, but the first time characterised properly for its functional effect.

Congratulations to @DrMSelvambigai (right) who was awarded the best poster for Endocrine Cancer and Later Effects at @Soc_Endo#SfEBES2025. Congratulations also to @aq_fun (left) for the best oral comm in Neuroendocrinology and Pituitary. @unibirm_CMH
Had a great time at #SfEBES2025! Great scientific sessions and networking! And great @UoB_MSS and @unibirm_CMH participation! Well done to all award winners!
Thank you to the organizers for giving me the opportunity to present our work with #melanocortin receptors and modulation by the accessory protein MRAP2 #SfEBES2025#GPCR#metabolism
