Eskom will not be building any more base load capable capacity.
This will apparently be left up to IPP's.
What is this insanity.
Eskom is being forced to spend R300 Billion to expand the power grid with Taxpayers money so that these IPP's can connect to it because they are NOT being built where the power is needed.
They should build the lines themselves if they want to compete equally.
Can people not see what a rip off this is.
We need to change this governance system as fast as possible to stop this madness.
Eskom is already forced to buy extremely expensive electricity from IPP's and then elevate their cost to customer, not making it clear to the public that they are bearing the brunt for tech that is being punted by vested and interested parties on the renewable bandwagon.
We desperately need new base load capable capacity.
I said 3 years ago that there are powers that will destroy Eskom.
This is the last act of destruction, the last nail in the coffin for Eskom if sanity does not prevail and we stop this madness.
