@RnaudBertrand @letioliveirajor While I agree with the sentiment I bet that south african philosophers for example aren't as astonished as the French one....
@moontwerk just saw this thread on reddit and I think your tweet absolutely applies. I'm sure there's a long list of these kind of things

@karl_malte @smentalcritica Acho que você não entendeu o que disse. Tô falando que ele não é qualquer pessoa, é uma pessoa famosa e influente falando merda
@ariesnotebook@PhysInHistory That's the thing. These days the way we think the world is more and more atomized, dissected, sheet-balanceable. It makes less and less sense that addition for example isn't something inherent to the world, because it def is inherent to ours. But it needn't be.
@sqiouyilu While very interesting that spiral is making it so hot rn in that heat smudge in brazil 😬😬 it's night time now but it doesn't really feel like
@DilettanteryPod This reminds me of Nego Bispo, a brazillian natural intelectual that sadly died recently. He said from a decolonial perspective "there's a sense of urgency towards development. But away from what?" (in portuguese development = desenvolvimento = de-involvement)
@sqiouyilu Have you heard of Axe/Ase from Yoruba? Very similar. It's the always moving energy of everything, from gods/ancestors to humans, plants, rivers and stone.
I find it interesting that from my understanding, just like Qi its always moving (or: the source of movements)
@EstuaryDelta@keendisregard@dthorson It's an example of survivor bias.
They noticed that the planes that came back were shot as marked in the img, so reinforced those places. but the planes shot there were already more likely to survive as opposed to the other places that actually caused crashes
@walluponfries @BarekSvata@hankgreen Sure, but I'd like you to do it first. What did you mean by people more creative and smart than creating ai img generators? Why does that matter in this debate?
@sender47@BarekSvata@hankgreen I agree with the eye of the beholder argument like in animal art, but that is very far from consensus and I don't think it applies
There was an internet discourse episode many years ago bc an ape took a pic of an of a wildlife photographer +
@epistaxistaxi@asceticchialist @Tyfal010 @BarekSvata@hankgreen But yes since these people are very technical in their discourse aesthetics and tend to make a ton of unfair assumptions you do you, hammer them with a legal book if you want. Just understand that you also be holding a snake that is not your ally historically
@epistaxistaxi@asceticchialist @Tyfal010 @BarekSvata@hankgreen On the side, hushingly: while I've been arguing that ai imgs arent art by themselves I don't really think artists should lean on lawns except as a last resource. If an extremist court of law decides that such and such ain't legal/art as has been the case it doesn't change reality
@michaelandmore @asceticchialist@epistaxistaxi @Tyfal010 @BarekSvata@hankgreen While I've been arguing for AI imgs not being art in the slightest I think we should be wary of assigning artness based on skill or difficulty. A circle might very well be considered art depending on intent and context, see Duchamp's fountain
