In case we haven’t been clear enough: there shall be no decarbonisation of construction without regulatory change (at the least) + change to economic + political systems that put life before profit.
We can learn all we like but those are the bare minimums for meaningful change.
Oh look, we’d only need £50bn spent on wind energy to power ALL UK HOMES.
But we’re just going to GIVE the energy companies 4x that, £200bn, even though they’re about to make £170bn profit.
None of this makes rational sense.

The corporate media has contributed perhaps more to climate inaction than even the fossil fuel industry. Yes, the fossil fuel industry lied flagrantly and bribed politicians for 30+ years, but the science was clear that whole time. It was the media's job to call them out.
"Let me repeat that last phrase, just in case you glossed over it: firmly on track toward an unlivable world."
If we could triple underline and bold on Twitter we would.
Take action.

What is greenwashing?
If your company got away with 30 years of climate denial, why not try to get away with 30 years of playing pretend?

BREAKING : scientists discover weaknesses in ice shelf holding back Antarctica’s 'doomsday' glacier suggesting it could shatter within the next 3 to 5 years
When did scientists determine that higher CO2 levels in the atmosphere would warm the planet? In the 1850s. When did people decide to cast doubt on the science? In the 1990s. Yes, that's how young climate denial is. 🧐
The more I learn about complex systems, the less likely it seems that the current, incremental approach to climate mitigation could work. It's as if, during the financial emergency in 2008, governments had said "we'll supply the bailout money at 2% a year between now and 2050".
