@FrankJahnAussie @sozi_simon Die gesellschaftliche Motivation zu arbeiten liegt auch darin, einen Mehrwert für die Gesellschaft zu leisten & seiner Existenz damit einen Sinn zu geben. Das gilt für bezahlte und unbezahlte Arbeit. Gesellschaftliche Anerkennung wird aber meist erst durch Lohnarbeit erlangt.

“I am happy that during my reign we have made significant progress in the return of our Culture. However, I am more disappointed that up till date, @GermanyDiplo and @kulturSPK haven’t ensured the return of Ngonnso.
I was also hoping that by now @LindenMuseum and partners who welcomed me heartily and guaranteed their readiness to return, must have returned my Royal heritage. But till date, my people and I have been kept in silence and darkness.
I am not getting any younger. Some of my friends, brothers, sisters, children who had started preparing the return of heritage will not be able to see them because they have been called beyond to meet our ancestors.

On behalf of my people, I am emphasizing the need for restitutions to happen, not just at the pleasure of the German institutions, but in a timely manner that serves the purpose of the greater good.

As I try to calm my restless mind, I call on the Germans do the right thing - return our heritage.”

Today, we join the world in commemorating the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition. This day marks the anniversary of the 1791 uprising in Santo Domingo that initiated the abolition of slavery in Haiti. It also honors the millions of Africans who suffered and died under the brutal system of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade.

We recognize that slavery’s legacy of racism still affects our societies today, and we must work together to combat it through transformative education. This means educating ourselves and others about the history and consequences of slavery, promoting a culture of human rights and dignity, and fostering dialogue and reconciliation among people of different backgrounds and identities.

How can we develop a law that restricts wealth and private property and is accepted by governments, parliaments and citizens in the majority and is not boycotted by the billionaires, almost-billionaires and those who would like to be?

@ngonnso @kulturSPK @ECCHRBerlin Or does the packaging material still need to be produced? It is more likely for a bureaucratic reason. Laws that make museums, cities, & states owner of artifacts appropriated in colonial times should be changed. Transfer of ownership would then maybe involve less bureaucracy...?

@ngonnso @kulturSPK @ECCHRBerlin Why is this taking so long? In Cologne, "transfer of ownership" of the Benin bronzes to Nigeria, after a long time, worked. Couldn't @kulturSPK copy the legal texts & adapt them for Ngonnso? Or do they do that? Is it not possible to find an insurance for the transport of Ngonnso?
