Israel is not trying to convert Palestinians or assimilate them so that they can integrate them and live in peace together. There is no option to change religions and learn a new language for Palestinians, they were born into the wrong ethnic group in the wrong part of the world. Their daily lives are under Israel’s control either through occupation, blockade or bombardment. They do not live in a merit based society. The moment there is a glimmer of prosperity, Israel “mows the lawn” by shutting down their universities for years depriving them of education, by blocking their businesses from receiving necessary imports, by refusing permits to build critical infrastructure, by bulldozing “Un permitted” structures that are within supposed Palestinian controlled territory, by imprisoning- without charges- 50% of the population leaving families struggling, by cutting off their water and electricity to keep them “dirty” and worst of all, by carpet bombing them, killing truth telling journalists and wiping out entire families.

Had they been born anywhere else in the world they would have been given the opportunity to earn a living and build a prosperous life, but under Israel’s Iron fist and quest to build a nation that does not include them, they are robbed of this basic human fundamental desire. Freedom to exist and freedom to thrive.
