Again, where is the opportunity? The person that wanted to buy a 30 mile Mercedes EQB for 45% of the price already has one, because there were 12 others to choose from in various different colours. There are only a finite amount of people to buy them. You can't magic new people into existence to buy them. Maybe some people buy 2 or 3 and have a spare, but there are still too many spare

What opportunity? There are more EV's for sale than there are people to buy them.

Let's say for example if 5 million people in the UK want to buy an EV, but there are 6 million EV's for sale, where do the extra 1 million EV's with no buyer go? Do they get scrapped? Abandoned? Sold at a fraction of their price to try and get just anyone to buy them, even if that person doesn't actually need one?

There are simply too many "used" EV's for sale because of the fake sales and pre-registrations that the dealerships do to hit their government mandated targets.

You appear to be in the US
The UK / US market is very different because the UK government mandates that manufacturers must sell this year 33% EV's or they get huge fines (UK market is only about 23% EV)
So what the manufacturers do to hit their targets is they "pre register" EV (i.e. they buy the car from themselves, register the car and then park it on an airfield for 1-3 years) then they sell the car "used" at a fraction of the new price.

So the problem is there is a significant number of EV's for sale, with no buyers, because everyone that wants an EV has one, but there are a huge number of "extra" used EVs because of these fake sales and pre-registrations.

Here is an example, just because I had it to hand. A brand new Mercedes EQB being sold as "used" but it has only done 30 miles in 3 years. It is being sold at 45% of its new price. This means that a REAL used EQB that has done say 30k miles has to be sold for even less, hence you end up with a 3 year old genuine used Mercedes EV at 70% off, because Mercedes are selling brand new cars as "used" with 55% off
