📢 3rd PhD paper!
#Urbanization reduced bird #taxonomic diversity, but enhanced #functional & #phylogenetic diversity.
The study also shows that mosaic of #water bodies, #bushes & #trees could boost bird functional & phylogenetic diversity in urban areas.

My 4th PhD paper explored how satellite remote sensing can enhance our understanding of bird diversity in Afrotropical urban and non-urban habitats. We found that the Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index (MCARI) and the Normalized Difference Water Index II (NDWI2) are more effective indicators of avian diversity than the commonly used NDVI. Check out our findings and share your thoughts and this post!

Happy to share my second PhD chapter!
We collaborated with several researchers in Europe to understand urban dwellers' disconnection with nature and how landscape configuration can affect it.
