Something a bit strange about the Prime Minister doing a sponsored run for a homelessness charity.
I suppose there’s not much he can do about it, it’s not like he’s the Prime Minis…… oh, wait.
In Holborn and St Pancras this morning for the announcement of our candidate @ZackPolanski . We have a crucial fight in this by-election to keep the pressure on Labour to do better on climate, cost of living, and foreign policy.
Personally I welcome this news and believe Zack will be an excellent candidate. Unfortunately I am not in a position to stand this time round. The Camden Peoples Alliance, the community group created out of my campaign against Starmer, will meet next week to formally decide our position. This is a crucial time for progressives in Camden and across the country to be united.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham came to Lambeth yesterday to promote Sainsbury's workfare scheme for 10,000 young people to work for free in their supermarkets.
Sainsbury's cut 3000 jobs last year while simultaneously posting a £1 billion profit.
Strangely the Leader of Lambeth Council was not invited.
Lambeth's young people deserve better than this; quality apprenticeships and training that provide them with the skills, experience and pay to live and thrive in our borough.
Andy Burnham promised to "end neoliberalism" but supporting a scheme to provide free labour for Billion pound companies will only serve to perpetuate it.
In the Green Party, any member can propose a policy. It’s in our constitution, and members decide whether to debate it.
So when the media presents that as the Green Party “proposing” a policy, they’re misleading you.
Worth asking why the billionaire press constantly attacks us.
If you think any of this happens without the insurgence of Polanski then you are an idiot. The Green Party has had a profound impact on shaping British political discourse, it is more influential than it ever has been. Hold the line and your opponents will have to fall into line
The incredible Michael Ball has been elected as Clapham Park's newest Green councillor! It's a clear mandate for change as the Greens remain the largest party in Lambeth.
@London_W4 Ridiculous to blame this on a lone Green councillor who has worked with local pubs to try and resist this change.
Labour control the council, this is on them. Greens love the pubs on the Strand and share your frustration.
It rained every day for the first 4 months of the year. These pronouncements happen because of years of under investment in reservoirs by our privatised water industry. But at least it’s made a load of shareholders rich!
Sending reporters to do heatwave stories to camera at the beach is a such a lazy bit of consent manufacturing. 35C does not equal the beach. Do the report on a building site where people are on the verge of passing out. Do it from a hospital ward.
Big Congratulations to Marijn van de Geer and @EalingGreens.
It was lovely to meet and campaign with your lovely team! Good luck sorting out those trees and holding Labour to account.
10 years ago my wife, the mum of our kids & the MP for Batley&Spen was killed by a far right extremist.
At anniversaries I try to be optimistic about the future. But not this time. In the ten years since she was killed we have gone backwards & I fear our democracy is now at risk
There you have it. Anthropic's CEO said it: The murder of more than 100 schoolgirls in Minab targeted by Anthropic's CLAUDE "is a use case that doesn't even violate our red lines." Time to rise up against these technofeudal war criminals.
