@shannonmattern @violetbfox You might also be interested in this critical design work my colleague and I did—the CHI paper and some of our talks explicitly mention using metadata as design material. I’m not on Twitter much, email if you need access to papers or have questions. https://t.co/u4UMcOWdNu
@beastlibrarian@icatalogthings You can’t do an audit at scale because the necessary metadata doesn’t exist. The necessary metadata doesn’t exist because that shit is complicated and potentially harmful. See also: https://t.co/xYfXfyixMY
@bibli @librariankqm Sorry, only saw this just now, been away from Twitter for self-care. Happy to talk about PhDs in LIS, best way is to email me rclark01 at syr dot edu
I got one of these shirts a while ago and not only do I get compliments and start conversations every time I wear it, it is also SUPER COMFY soft cotton 💯

Finally! I am excited to share with you a very important project that I have been working on for the past few months. I am proud to present… https://t.co/w5wNRvdsO9
@Evahjansen I once brought sets of de-identified thesauri and made the class “read” them and try to tell me what domain they were intended to describe. Not exactly the same as your intent but definitely some overlap.
@activitystory Couldn’t make the reading but was able to witness your poem in all its centered glory today. I liked it better than the first place winner.
@RVSHeritage@ARAnewprofs I’m normally pretty flexible on classification, but in this instance I have to go with no. Can aspects from each work to inform the other? Sure. But that’s not the same thing. Science and art have already inappropriately co-opted design, I can’t support perpetuating that.
With the completion of this project, I have—for what is possibly the first time in my life—knitted more yarn than I have acquired in the calendar year (4620 yards in so far; 8078 knitted, net loss of 3458)! #knitting#stashdown
