🔴 Imagine receiving almost Mumbai's 26 July 2005 rainfall.. in a single day.
That's exactly what Umbergaon (Valsad) has witnessed - 906 mm in just 24 hours.
For comparison, Mumbai recorded 944 mm during the historic 26 July 2005 deluge.

SUPREME COURT BIG OBSERVATION ON RESERVATION.
"IF BOTH PARENTS ARE IAS OFFICERS, WHY SEEK RESERVATION?"
@anany_b reports SC: WITH EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THERE IS SOCIAL MOBILITY. So then again to seek reservation for the children, WE WILL NEVER GET OUT OF IT.
Ignore white noise from "financial services economists" who want to make money from flows and read this thread where Dr Panagariya gives us a masterclass in proper, rigorous economic thinking/policy making.
India’s grid is 22% with solar. If this number is increased, we will see a huge increase in battery storage. Time to go long in financially healthy companies in cell/battery/BMS/BESS manufacturing.
The year was 2013. There was an oil shock with crude jumping over $100
INR slides was slow and then sudden
What followed it was a major crash on Nifty. Pessimism was at its peak!
Then in Sept 2013, 2 things happened: Rajan became the governor of RBI and Modi was elected as the PM candidate for BJP. The policy at RBI changed and politics changed for good.
Currency slide was slowed and shale revolution picked up speed resulting in a decade of low oil prices.
Markets recovered very well!
Congress in its support letter said they are supporting a secular, progressive front if no communal forces are allowed. IUML is secular. BJP is communal. And people like Rajdeep wont ever ask this.
You dint need a better definition of their secularism. If one still had doubts.
@ShoaibIND One thing to add: And, people of all religions can live safely and peacefully there, as long as they let people of other religions (including Hindus) live safely and peacefully!
Now that Indian Muslims have become 15% of Indian Population (250+ Millions), they started having problem with "Vande Matram" which was adopted as National Song of India on 24th January 1950 and played an important role in Indian independence movement.
Just at 15%, they've started revolting against Indian identity.
Islam is not compatible with any humanity.
Deport all of them to Saudi Arabia from where they started and spreaded into other countries like a parasite.
Four years ago, I sat down with my 12-year-old daughter in the US and told her I was walking away from a successful tech career and real estate business to return to India for public service and politics.
At that age, she didn’t realize “public life” would slowly take her Appa away from her for months… and years.
But I came with conviction.
So for the last 4 years, we gave everything we had — for example -In villages like Subramaniapuram and Vellanaikottai, we built bus shelters, restored a 100-acre pond, removed seemai karuvelam, strengthened bunds, planted thousands of palm saplings, supported students’ education, organized medical camps and career workshops, built community sheds, encouraged youth and sports activities, and contributed to annadanams.
It cost several ten lakhs of hard-earned money - just for this village alone. But more than money, it cost time… family moments… and precious years watching my daughter grow up from far away.
Then elections came.
And the same village chose a candidate who had barely visited them in five years.
In the end, one week of election-time money defeated four years of sincere service.
Yesterday, my daughter quietly asked me over video call:
“Appa… can you now tell me what exactly politics is?”
For the first time in my life, I did not have an answer for my chellaponnu.

BJP Corporator in BMC @MNarwekar has raised a loot in the BMC
A Rs. 62 crore tender for the installation of LED lights beneath city skywalks was awarded to a firm blacklisted by the Thane Municipal Corporation. The very same lights available for Rs. 700 on the Government e-Marketplace were procured by the BMC at Rs. 9,600 per unit.
He has asked, “How does a blacklisted firm get awarded such a high ticket contract? Who approved this? And why were Mumbai’s taxpayers made to pay nearly 14 times the market price?”
A report on the same has to be now presented within 15 days.
