For months at a time seabirds spend their time on marine waters looking for food and relying on the ocean for most everything.

Seabirds live at sea and only go to shore to mate or feed young. That means they eat from the water, drink the water and rest on the water.

The most common bird seen this trip is the black-legged kittiwake, which is a large white bird, with, yes, black legs and black wing tips.
