@IsoEnergyLtd If you need wildfire resources we can assist.
We helped to defend the @eldoradogoldsk and @HudbayUS facilities in Snow Lake last year. We can deploy up to 55 firefighters and 15 response units.
@WBrettWilson Hi Brett, would love to discuss mine emergency response with companies you invest in. Instead of taking productive workers off the line for ERT training, having it contracted out ensures smoother operations and easier to manage compliance with mine safety regs.
@ABDanielleSmith@EleanorO_MP Thank you Premier for bringing up those concerns. I hope you had a chance to discuss how the contract first responders could be better utilized in disaster response across Canada.
@TimHoustonNS Could someone from your office reach out to me? We can deploy 15 fire trucks, 1 SPU trailer and 50 firefighters from Alberta who have WUI experience.
@EmergMgt This is where contractors can come in useful. We were deployed in Northern Sask and MB for mines and have reached out across the country to offer our services. We have a team of 50 firefighters and 15 fire trucks able to deploy.
@WabKinew Premier Kinew,
If you need more firefighting resources, my team from Alberta can assist. We can deploy 15 fire trucks, 1-2 SPU trailers, plus up to 50 firefighters.
@WabKinew There is a small army of contract firefighters available in Alberta.
We can deploy 15 fire trucks, 2 SPU trailers, and 50 firefighters.
We were in Snow Lake earlier this spring helping set up their sprinkler systems, looks like they will now be put to the test.
@EmergMgt@BridgerAero Politicians cannot be complaining if industry hires the contractors to protect their assets over βpublic goodβ if the agencies do not hire them.
@liberal_party@CPC_HQ What is your platform for wildfire response?
-how to make type 2(First Nation) firefighters interprovincial?
-increasing water bombers?
-increasing WUI responses?
@CBCNews@CTVNews@globalnewsto
Wildfires have been the #1 news story for a decade.
The best way to address this is to develop a process to convert Type 2 firefighters into Type 1 firefighters with a national First Nations body such as the @NIFSC_CA IFMO becoming a CIFFC responding member. They can train FN firefighters to NWCG standards so they can deploy π
Today Canada wastes another $16.3M on wildfire training, as it does nothing to improve national capacity building. Type 2 firefighters are seldom used inter-provincially due to the strong desire of CIFFC members to import foreign firefighters.
