Thanks to @shf_somalia, in response to the communities affected by the droughts, we completed the construction of 14 latrines of which 4 are disability friendly latrines in 3 villages in Hudur District of Bakool region.

Each kit contained:

We are reaching 6,000 beneficiaries across 4 villages—Tuboy, Waneey, Gaabaneey & Kontomo-ensuring that vulnerable families have access to clean,safe water during this difficult dry spell.

In Hudur, ARD Community hygiene promoters are holding awareness sessions with village communities on environmental, Food, Water, Personal and Child hygiene, among others.

1/2)At the request of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Hirshabelle State, ARD with other partner agencies conducted a Rapid Needs Assessment in drought-affected areas.
The assessment covered remote agro-pastoralist and pastoralist communities facing
ARD teams in Berdale & Baidoa have participated in a critical SWS-WASH Cluster-led Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) in Baidoa and Berdale.
Amid a prolonged drought, timely data is vital to scale up life-saving water, sanitation & hygiene responses for affected communities.
Rivers are drying up due to the worsening drought in #Somalia.
Thousands of families rely on river water for household needs & irrigation.
This situation will worsen life for those in riverine areas and have far-reaching impacts in other regions.
Support is urgently needed.
