“It is Hamas' fault that it put Palestinian lives at risk rather than… give up power” It’s useful when they casually acknowledge they support collective punishment and acknowledge Israel engaged in collective punishment as this is the textbook definition of collective punishment
Karl: Republicans are going to make you the poster child for the Democratic Party.
Mamdani: Let them. We don’t have to ask ourselves what life looks like if a socialist wins. I won last November, and over the course of these last six months, what we’ve delivered for working people are the very things we were told were impossible.
We’ve delivered free child care for two-year-olds for the first time in New York City history. We’ve delivered tens of millions of dollars back to tenants who were taken advantage of by bad landlords. We’ve delivered 165,000 potholes being paved. And we’ve done all of these things while also delivering the lowest recorded crime in our city’s history.
That’s what it looks like to have democratic socialism. And what you’re seeing is that New Yorkers experienced this for six months and made the decision that they wanted to see more of it on the national stage as well.
Again in the same Marquette poll CNN is citing here, and what they fail to mention, is the Democratic Party is at -25 —within the margin of error. In other words DSA and the Democratic Party have roughly the same negatives. By this logic Dems should be running from their own name
DSA is going to give the GOP more power, as compared to democrats who have given the GOP all three branches of government and lost us fundamental legal protections for generations
Johnson: The DSA… this is their platform. They put this on paper!
Abolish the electoral college or replace the two-party system with a multi-party democracy, expand the House of Representatives, implement proportional representation and rank choice voting in all elections… End all military and economic aid to Israel, prosecute US and Israeli leaders responsible for the genocide in Gaza
funny to build a segment around how unpopular DSA is w/ the the broader electorate without noting the same Marquette poll finds Democratic Party favorability at -25 so... basically the same @ForecasterEnten. Should Dems distance themselves from the Democratic Party brand as well?
Now is the time for socialists everywhere to ditch their sectarian proclivities. The people have chosen, and it’s not even close. DSA is the conduit for mass struggle, and to refuse that reality is to oppose the progress of revolution.

The Democratic Party is its voters.
And in primary after primary across the country, they are demanding an agenda to take on the oligarchs, win healthcare as a human right, to end the wars and abolish ICE.
I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination.
Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your campaign.
Focus on building the party you actually support.
Political parties aren’t perfect, but they’re built by millions of people who knock doors, make calls, organize meetings, and fight for the values they believe in. If you don’t believe in the party, then don’t ask its members to carry you across the finish line.
NEWS: In a closed House Dem meeting, rank and file lawmakers expressed alarm at having to vote on an amendment to cut off aid to Israel.
Begging for leadership's guidance.

Growing Dem angst over their party's "Mamdani wing"
One battleground Democrat told me they are so concerned about the rise of democratic socialists that they're having serious convos with donors about leaving the party altogether next term
