@affrodiziac_ @millerman I'm not saying that you can be conscious without a self, but that self-conscious mean "I am conscious of self, these thoughts, feelings, body is tied to me as individual separated from the rest of world". I think we are talking about the same anyway, just we use different words

@affrodiziac_ @millerman It's used to mean that you're conscious of yourself. A bird is conscious, but it doesn't have a reflective loop process where it has a model of self as content. Although I agree with you to some extent, a better word is meta-consciousness
