Delighted to confirm that I will be returning to @GuernseyPress in April to become its new editor. A great opportunity for me.
Clearly the newspaper and website still has a massive role to play in our community and I am very excited about having the chance to influence that
So yesterday the usual suspects on here are running around like their hair’s on fire over GST. Today the @GuernseyPress provides them with the confirmation they were all craving… 🤫 Maybe it’s the sunshine! #HaveANiceDay
@ShaneLanglois If you read the full story, as I’m sure you did, the reference was GST-PLUS to fall (correct) but some consumption tax still likely (correct again). Looks sound to me 👍
@pvbsc1@GuernseyPress Were it not for Matt and the Guernsey Press I strongly suspect today’s news wouldn’t be out there still. So let’s give credit where it’s due?
Congratulations to Carl, who’s been a friend and sometimes colleague for more than 20 years. Newspaper man to his bones. Looking forward to what he makes of the role 👍
@YoungGuern Do better. That old trope. Have you actually read the articles in the paper? Inder quoted, along with sceptical estate agent and a family explain how multi-gen living has worked for them.
Guernsey Press exit poll has been published, it was relatively accurate last year. I will be interested to see the overall turnout #guernsey#byelection2026

The Best FA Cup Semi Final Day Of All Time.
Two games, 13 goals and some truly unforgettable telly watched by millions.
First, Palace stun Liverpool 4-3 with a late Alan Pardew winner at Villa Park.
The original Super Sunday.
@richarddigard@GuyPlummer34449 If you’ve got £1m spare then I’ve got two case studies that can show you how investigating starting a bank in Guernsey can soon wipe that out
@GuyPlummer34449 I was amazed at how pleased he seemed to be to impart this as a positive of consultation. The fact the committee had got this far is bone-headed
