While many know the next POTUS will have a consequential hand in the nation's tax policy, taxes have still taken more of a role on the campaign trail than I expected.
Ahead of Election Day, here's a one-page cheat sheet on what we've heard from Harris and Trump on tax policy.
I'm particularly excited about a new 10-part series on the 2017 tax law (TCJA) by @ariannafano & I.
Have Qs about TCJA's impact on individual tax rates? The standard deduction? The Child Tax Credit? The corporate tax rate? Estate taxes?
We've got it all & more! @BPC_Bipartisan
.@BPC_Bipartisan is going to be rolling out some big TCJA/2025 explainers in the coming weeks!
First one is from BPC's @ariannafano, on a topic that's critical, misunderstood, and actually NOT about the 2017 tax law: the growing tax gap!
Check it out: https://t.co/SZ25166SQC
Campus-based aid programs annually support 2.2 million low & middle-income students. Yet, funding disparities mean institutions with more low-income students often receive less aid. My new piece with Tristan Stein for @BPC_Bipartisan explores why this is and the need for change.
Are you interested in tax and fiscal policy? Do you want to work with a fantastic team? Then apply for this position with the Economic Policy Program at @BPC_Bipartisan!

Compared to even 4 months ago, CBO's last projections in February, the budget picture has worsened.
