Good communicators know we use the same words differently.
My respect: listening quietly and not talking back.
Your respect: expressively speaking your mind.
We both want respect - though we satisfy it differently.
Communication isn't enough - Comprehension is mandatory.
I thought I needed more time so I woke up 1hr earlier.
Turns out I spent that extra 60min doing the same shit.
That's when I realized I don't need more time, I need to change my behaviour.
~Confidence~ is a skill you develop by reducing the time between thought and action.
- Make the joke.
- Ask the girl.
- Jump.
There is no failure - only new data that you can implement to get better.
Too many options doesn't create indecision.
A lack of clarity on who you are does.
When you're clear on your values every decision is simple.
Sometimes it'll be hard, sometimes it'll be uncomfortable - but every time it'll be aligned.
And alignment is key to happiness.
A small way to bring more love into the world is by replacing 'Hope all is well!' with 'How are you?'.
People donโt need your well wishes; they need you โ your eyes, your ears, your heart.
If structure and routine feels restrictive to you it's because there's a lack of alignment with your values.
No one complains about clothes fitting too good.
There's an unavoidable feeling of regret when we realize the carrot we've been chasing is tied to a stick that we've been holding.
- Notice how you're getting in your own way.
- Accept that there's no one to blame.
- Begin to move differently.
Our actions (just like our words) are vehicles for intention - they deliver a feeling.
What's delivered is just as important as how it's delivered.
A Ferrari is nice, but that doesn't mean we automatically like the driver. ๐
If you treat your audience like consumers they will demand and expect. If you treat your audience like community members they will participate and support. The difference? How you speak to them.
The second question balances desires with action. It's easy to say what I want, it's more demanding (though engaging) to discover what I'm willing to do to get it. โฌ๏ธ
Good intentions isn't good enough.
Being haphazard with our words and actions is how we hurt those we care about.
The effort we put into the delivery of our good intentions reveals our level of care and respect for the recipient.
Someone in my breathwork class said "I've been anxious so long I feel anxiety about my anxiety" to which I responded "I've been grateful for so long I feel gratitude about my gratitude". It goes both ways my friends <3
Choice is the action of pouring your energy into a decision.
If you don't choose something you'll eventually be poured into the choice of others either upon request, force, or necessity.
Pour your damn self.
