"BOOM. The hoax is toast."
@JesseBWatters weighs in after tech leaders descend on the White House for a major meeting on the future and safety of AI.
"Every major tech pioneer went to the White House today and no one screamed that the world is going to end. Nobody. Not even the Anthropic guy."
Then Watters adds: "Which is great news because I didn't want to die in 2030. I have vacations planned."
“I think it is worth highlighting the positive benefits of A.I. ... S.I., pardon me."
"Thank you.”
@elonmusk catches his own slip after calling the technology “A.I.” while speaking alongside President Trump and other tech leaders, quickly correcting himself to “super intelligence" after today's agreed-upon name change.
The Trump White House is pointing to the Obama administration’s clashes with Fox News as it defends President Trump’s decision to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House grounds. CBS News’ Major Garrett, who covered the Obama White House for Fox News, recounts his experience and a key difference: “At no time, though, was my White House press credential seized.”
"One of the greatest comebacks in the history of golf."

Police found roughly 30 partially clothed young men packed inside a sweltering basement at a Wisconsin fraternity house, covered in food, condiments and other liquids — with several showing signs of being physically struck.
Officers responded to an anonymous tip at the Alpha Epsilon Pi house on Langdon Street in Madison around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday during rush week. The thermostat in the basement was set to 81 degrees, creating hot and humid conditions. The vast majority of those inside were 18 years old.
Fraternity president Brayden J. Klein and vice president Samuel N. Vane, both 20, were arrested on hazing and disorderly conduct allegations. Police say cooperation from those at the scene was limited, and statements from witnesses didn't align — raising red flags for investigators.

Bill Gates warns artificial intelligence is "powerful enough" to cause "a billion deaths" if left unchecked, calling it "completely irresponsible" not to require safeguards on every AI system.
The Microsoft co-founder told NBC's Meet the Press that the combination of people with ill intent and the latest AI tools amounts to the most powerful weapon ever created — and pushed back on the Trump administration's approach of treating AI purely as a global competition with China rather than an existential safety concern.
The warning drew sharp reactions on both sides. RNC member Amy Kremer said "the only people still denying the reality of the situation are those being paid by Big AI to gaslight the American people," while investment CEO Nancy Tengler fired back that Gates' framing ignores the need to win the AI race the same way the U.S. won the Cold War arms race.

NEW: President Trump makes a prediction about the Iran war
"I think what's going to happen is we're going to win the war very soon," the president told Fox News' @aishahhasnie at the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club.
Trump predicted oil prices will fall once the war ends, and said he believes the U.S. is winning the war through both economic pressure and military action.
Pope Leo XIV describes the African refugee crisis in Lampedusa, Italy and calls mass migration a “serious problem” that must be dealt with globally, while treating people with respect.
Sounds right to me.
I'm honestly disappointed by what I've seen today across Catholic YouTube channels reacting to the election of Pope Leo XIV. Every livestream I watched carried an undertone of judgment—as if we're all just waiting to evaluate our new Holy Father based solely on how closely he matches our personal values or expectations. He wasn't exactly what many expected. He’s neither a staunch conservative nor a radical progressive—he’s a centrist, somewhat akin to an American-style Pope Francis. And for many, this seemed like a letdown.
But here’s the problem: This judgmental attitude misses the point completely.
When did our personal preferences become the yardstick by which we measure the Vicar of Christ? When did we start believing that we know better than the Holy Spirit guiding the Church? This isn't the right attitude, especially at a moment like this. We’re called first and foremost to unity, humility, and trust.
Rather than focusing on what Pope Leo XIV is not, maybe we should begin by being thankful for who he is—our Holy Father, chosen to shepherd the Church through this next chapter.
Let's pray for Pope Leo XIV. Let’s pray for humility in ourselves. Let's trust in God’s providence. After all, the Church is ultimately guided not by our expectations but by the Spirit Himself.
While somewhat liberal on immigration, Pope Leo XIV is staunchly against female ordination, homosexuality, abortion, and a registered Republican who leans conservative.
He has voted in Republican primaries and US general elections while living abroad.
