🇺🇸 US is a country, America is a people.
A People that believe in a set of ideas set forth by the Founders
Not everyone can be part of the US, but everyone can be part of America.
Let free cities grow. Let 1000s of independent Americas bloom across the world and experiment what kind of governance works. As @balajis puts it, America 3.0
Spread the culture of freedom. This is cheaper and better than doing it through military means. It helps illegal immigration by developing their home country so they don't leave. It can deter China swooping leftist dictators of impoverished countries to its side.
It will help both the US keep its resources and America grow its influence
And the US should support it
Very excited to see growing bipartisan support for Próspera, for 3 main reasons.
1/ Charter cities are a powerful tool for addressing economic inequality by providing in-country jobs that reduce the pressure to migrate (primarily driven by wanting better jobs), as well as improving regional security.
2/ Investment treaties are the foundation of all cross-border investment. Without developed countries investing in less-developed ones, the economic situation in the global south would be extremely grim and the migration crisis far worse.
Honduras’ attempt to renege on their 10-year ZEDE program in violation of their own Constitution is not only despicable but an attempt at a massive self-own which would impoverish them further.
3/ Under the leadership of literal Marxist @XiomaraCastroZ, Honduras is cozying up to China and attempting to re-align from the US, which is arguably a security threat, although hilariously China has told them that after leaving @icsid, Honduras must join another investor-state dispute resolution system to receive any Chinese investment.
IOW, mechanisms to protect investments from govts reneging are so fundamental that even their new commie friends insist on it 😂.
The US under @realDonaldTrump & @JDVance should cease all foreign aid to Honduras and other countries attempting to expropriate US investments and join the Sinosphere, as well as publicly announcing that we will fulfill our bilateral investment treaty obligations & those of @DRCAFTA, contra last year’s shameful letter from @SenWarren to @JoeBiden asking him to do the opposite.

Elon Musk: There are no lords and peasants at Tesla. Everyone eats at the same table.
“I actually know the people on the line, because I worked on the line, I walked the line, I slept in the factory, and I worked beside them. So, I'm no stranger to them.
There are many people at Tesla who have gone from working on the line to being in senior management. There are no lords and peasants. Everyone eats at the same table. Everyone parks in the same parking lot.
At GM, there's a special elevator only for senior executives. We have no such thing at Tesla.
We give everyone stock options. Many people who are just working the line, who didn't even know what stocks were, we've made them millionaires.
And I just want to say that I'm incredibly appreciative of those who build the cars, and they know it.”

Balaji is right on this, absolutely. Go direct
A man working as a welder at SpaceX for $28 an hour has just become a millionaire.
Juan Hernandez, who came from Mexico, welded rockets for SpaceX at $28 an hour.
SpaceX gave him $10,000 in stock when he went full time in 2015, and he bought more with every paycheck for 10 years.
$SPCX is now trading at $167, making his shares worth over $1 million.
“Brazilian courts have issued secret orders directing U.S. social media companies to take down certain political content and to suspend the profiles of U.S. residents, sometimes globally, as well as prohibiting the platforms from disclosing these orders to profile owners. Brazilian courts have also subjected U.S. social media companies to financial liability for failing to comply with these orders by imposing significant fines for non-compliance; restricting their access to assets, accounts, and payment processing systems in Brazil; and in at least one case, by shutting down a site altogether..” — United States Trade Representative

The biggest flaw among crypto people who don't understand monetary econ: they think the choice of a monetary asset can be manipulated into anything.
While subjective, this choice is not arbitrary. It's constrained by real properties that certain assets have and others don't.
Far left: we need to tear down the system
Center left: we need a system
Center right: we need positive-sum games
Far right: we need to win zero-sum games
@gregorykennedy The same ingredients to political violence are present: dysfunctional media, moral relativism, tribalism, cancelations… i can go on.
The fuse is just longer, but it’s still bomb that needs defusing
Also: Curious how you left the 2020’s out…
Business has finite games and infinite games. You must play both.
In finite games, there are deadlines to meet. Opportunities to win. Getting to market first. Launching a better product. The objective is to win.
In infinite games, the goal is to keep playing, shape the game to your advantage, and make progress. There are no real winners, but rather just a concept of whether you are ahead or behind, which constantly changes depending on your success metrics. The only losers are those who quit.
You should want to win every finite game you choose to play, but whether you win or lose, you learn and continue on to your next game with the intention to win. The enduring value of a business organization is not measured by those past successes, but by the business's ability to keep succeeding and play the infinite game.
