I booked w/Q to fly my husband & I to the GC - I used a flight credit leftover from Covid & prepaid for his on card so I made 2 separate bookings. After my seat was booked, the fare jumped up. It returns back to the original price if you wait, unless it sells out prior.

Your happy to leech of the government so it makes no difference. I would rather be self-sufficient because I know the age pension won’t be much by the time I retire.

Most investors are everyday Australians who hold regular jobs & don’t wantto rely on the government in retirement. That’s being self-sufficient, not being a leech

That’s created a problem which people want to push onto to the private sector to fix when it’s not their responsibility to do so. Refer to Shagga’s link. “Wealth” & “property investors”1/2

You say it isn’t productive investment but my tenants (& I) would disagree. If we don’t tax income, how do we pay for the social infrastructure you mentioned in a past comment?
