@janecoaston I'm so sorry for your devastating loss. Your mother sounds like a wonderful person, and a force of nature. You wrote about her beautifully. May her memory be a blessing.
“Many of these incredible dogs have truly gone from rescued shelter dog to rescuer, now on the front lines helping with rescue and recovery efforts in the wake of these devastating fires”
Former shelter dogs that were deemed too "high energy" are now on the front lines in Los Angeles, searching through the rubble of the #PalisadesFire and #EatonFire. https://t.co/m8tvvE5daJ
#Pasadena Humane: “We ask that anyone who can safely foster a dog or a cat for at least one week to please come to the Pasadena Humane Foster Office or email [email protected]. Our greatest need is for large dog fosters.” #EatonFire#LosAngelesFire#LosAngeles#Altadena https://t.co/VCuVrEiAQT
The head of Pasadena Humane says that they're taking names of people who are willing to foster animals that are coming into the shelter that are displaced from the Eaton Fire.
She says that the main thing they need is money.
Please donate if you're looking for a way to help.
Here are some of the precious dogs we just brought in from @PasadenaHumane tonight. We sent two teams up to help free up space as they deal with the devastating #EatonFire. If you are able to help, please consider fostering a dog temporarily. Sign up at https://t.co/WKOm2AKCCL.

cat adoption photos are always so funny because cats just can't help but look disgruntled no matter what
but i still love them, every one of them (the cats and the adoption photos)
We are overjoyed to share that Flattop Jones and Gordon Whitefoot have been adopted together! These two lovable boys are now part of a wonderful family that includes their new sibling, Paddy-O, who was adopted back in October. Happy tails, boys! 🎉
❄️🐼 Tumbling in a winter wonderland! This morning, about 5 inches of snow blanketed the Washington, D.C., area, including giant panda Bao Li and Qing Bao's outdoor habitats. Flakes stuck to their fur as the bears frolicked and somersaulted. It was 🐾paws-itively the panda *snowment* of our dreams!
. . .
The bear pair will make their public debut at the @Smithsonian on Friday, Jan. 24. Follow #DCPandas for updates. ✏️LEARN MORE: https://t.co/rh9FL1ALFu.

you can take a dog home for the long weekend and give them a break from the shelter plus some good thanksgiving cheer.
reach out to your local shelter and make a dog’s dreams come true!
@LpcProf But also yes, a lot of times they do get adopted by their families. People fostering for the first time, especially, are likely to adopt the pet they're fostering!
@LpcProf Short term fostering is a tremendous good! Dogs who go into homes even just for a weekend have lower stress levels and get adopted more quickly.
